I’m looking forward to working in a new position soon. If all goes well, I’ll be responsible for increasing the number of transplants done between people who are related.
People who get organs from relatives face less problems, in general, after the surgery. There is less chance the body will reject the transplanted organ because the tissues are similar.
I’m looking forward to talking with people about our living donor program.
I like getting to know the people that come to us and I like hearing their stories. I think it’s important for them to feel comfortable when undergoing big changes like surgery and I know I’ll see a lot of things that will make me happy with the careerpath I chose for myself.
I look forward to seeing them in their dialysis clinics and maybe in their homes. I’m eager to work with them in our offices and follow them into the operating room. I want to be there when they come out of recovery and ultimately when they go home on discharge day.
It’s all very engaging to me and more importantly, the whole process is filled with Hope.
