The Philadelphia Phillies just won the 2008 World Series.
Brad Lidge, the Phillies closer, was perfect this season.  He was sent to the pitcher’s mound in 47 games to save the lead and ensure the win and he did his job every single time.
If you had watched the 2005 World Series you had to feel bad for him because [...]

Stand By Me

Recently, and I’m not quite sure how this all happened, a WHOLE bunch of former classmates got in touch with me through the magic of the internet and Facebook.  It’s had my head spinning like Beetlejuice – just in time for Halloween… and just in time for my birthday.
I’ve been wanting lately to plug some of [...]

…but this one is worthwhile…

Yeah.  That would be cool.
I don’t know of anyone else who goes to work to stop people from hurting others.

Anyway, [...]

I started working at my hospital five years ago as a RN on the post-op orthopedic unit.  Joint replacement surgery is elective surgery (not emergency or critical, per se) so patients go home typically by the third day.  If we see someone on the unit for double-digit days then something is really wrong — usually [...]

Yikes…

This is the last paragraph of an article I just read…
“What can one do? Go home, love your children, try not to bicker, eat well, walk in the rain, feel the sun on your face and laugh loud and often, as much as possible, and especially at yourself. Because the only antidote to death is [...]
