I’ve been to two funerals in one month. For me, that’s a lot. Twice now I’ve realized how much children help us get through the tough times in life. In Los Angeles it was little Zachary who crawled around on the floor and tried to walk by himself who kept us laughing through our tears.
In Manila it is Yvonne, Joyce’s daughter, who posed for the camera and jumped around and giggled while we tried hard to stay serious. We failed miserably. It’s funny how a six-year old could sweep away grief, if only temporarily, with just one laugh.
The pricelessness of children goes without saying. If only the children knew how much they help us…
