I’ve been to two funerals in one month. For me, that’s a lot. Twice now I’ve realized how much children help us get through the tough times in life. In Los Angeles it was little Zachary who crawled around on the floor and tried to walk by himself who kept us laughing through our tears.

I was supposed to be finishing the first week of a six-week summer program at the University of the Philippines.
Instead I chose to spend that time with family in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. I thought that was the best place for me to spend my time off.

My Ninong Joeffre Chan passed away on July 4. He was the husband of my Tita Claire. Tita Claire is my mom’s sister.
