Things overlooked.

I know I have a tendency to romanticize things. It’s just my way. But I would be remiss if I didn’t make clear that there’s a lot of things that people experience on a daily basis that some people just couldn’t handle. I’m not going to go into details because I’m afraid people would have a much more negative picture of this place than is the reality. But if you’re wondering what’s different here I’ll just say that the bathrooms are different, hot water is a rarity, and there are many, many people who live in conditions that are abhorrent. I’m lucky because the conditions for me have dramatically improved since my childhood trips here. Our house in Libmanan is amazing by Philippine standards. I’m just going to close by saying that running water should never be taken for granted.
